"O COME, LET US SING UNTO THE LORD: LET US MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE TO THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION" (Psalm 95:1)
Our goal is to bring the very best sacred music we are capable of to the glory of the Lord. We are blessed with two wonderful instruments; an Allen Renaissance Organ and a Yamaha Conservatory Grand Piano. We are even more blessed with a music staff artistically experienced on the instruments as well as the vocal arts. We currently have two primary opportunities for volunteers to participate in the music program.
CHOIR: Our choir sings an anthem in each Sunday worship service. We have considerable flexibility in our anthems to appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes. We use a lot of contemporary anthems composed in the last decade, but we also include anthems which were composed in the last 50 years and have become standards today. And we don't forget the great classics of the post Reformation era by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, etc. We rehearse Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary beginning at 7 PM. No audition is necessary nor is it necessary to be able to read music. We have need for singers in all ranges. We like to think of our choir as a family; care for each other; pray for each other, and have a lot of fun doing it. But we are also serious about our rehearsing believing that nothing less than our best effort deserves to be offered in the Worship Service. (Picture of Choir and Sample Anthem on Worship Page.)

ENSEMBLES: From time to time we also use various ensembles (groups of musicians and/or vocalists) to do both classical and more contemporary songs, hymns and spiritual songs. These ensembles will vary in size and composition and will sometimes feature vocalists accompanied by various instruments and at other times consist of instrumental offerings only. FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS: Please join us as we observe the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. This one hour service tells the story of our Lord's Incarnation and Redemption. It is a family service consisting of nine passages of scripture separated by choir anthems and congregational carols. The Festival is based upon the custom of many hundred years practice at King's College, Cambridge University, England. The Lessons are adapted from those used at King's College. It symbolizes and expresses the bonds of goodwill between fellow Christians, the peace within the whole Christian fellowship, and the joy of us all at this Advent season.
The festival is held annually on Christmas Eve, December 24th at 7:00 PM.
STAFF: Please feel free to contact any of our musical staff for more information.
